Day by day
Day 1
Arusha to Tarangire
A two-hour drive, then an afternoon along the Tarangire river where the herds come down to drink in the dry season.
Day 2
Full day in Tarangire
The Silale swamp circuit with a picnic lunch, looking for the park’s big-tusk bulls and the lions that shelter in the baobabs.
Day 3
Lake Manyara
Transfer to Manyara for a game drive through the forest and along the lakeshore, with hippo pools and large baboon troops.
Day 4
Return to Arusha
A short morning walk on the escarpment, then the drive back to Arusha or on to Kilimanjaro airport.
